Roadblocks Part II

Last week in my Seeing Sideways class we had an assignment due that was about recognizing the ‘roadblocks’ in our life that keep us from pursuing our passion or from being creative. This week, we were supposed to create something that can only be observed with 1 of our 5 senses that shows what our roadblock is and why it is a roadblock.

I had said that the different roles that I play in my life (husband, father, employee, student, etc.) get in the way of me being able to do anything at any given time that I please to do. But at the same time, that is ok, because each of those roles are parts of my life that I have chosen to be. For this example I created a video with no audio of 4 of my 5 kids on a lazy Saturday morning. I watch this video and I think, who cares about accomplishing my wildest dreams, I would rather just spend time with these beautiful creatures God has given me.

For the second sense, I just changed the video to audio only. Experiencing both the video and the audio but separately is a pretty unique experience. If you listen to the audio first, you try to picture what is happening. If you see the video first, and then listen to the audio it creates somewhat of a familiarity to what is going on.
